May 19' Monthly Selects

Lake Bled and the Julian Alps, Slovenia

Lake Bled and the Julian Alps, Slovenia

May 2019, started off in Slovenia, not the greatest weather, one of the most beautiful countries in Europe.

Then the month turned upside down as I was diagnosed with asthma and really bogged me down, not the fact I need an inhaler, but that I can physically do many sports, I get out of breath rather quickly and that's quite frustrating.

Any case, with asthma or not I had agreed to share a few images on my first ever photography exhibit, wow! Preparation was exhausting but reached due date with everything ready.

And I had a blast with everyone who came, enjoyed and asked.
Feeling grateful for that.

Journey Notes

Aoraki / Mount Cook was a natural step on the road through New Zealand and it did not disappoint at all.

Driving next to Lake Pukaki with Mt Cook, the highest in New Zealand, on sight, was truly mesmerizing, and the days after a gift by nature, you can see all the details in the post.

Amazing Places

Lake Bohinj, Slovenia

Lake Bohinj, Slovenia

Slovenia has surpassed my expectations, the weather wasn’t at its best, and we missed sight to many mountain peaks I would like to have captured, however, weather-wise, we are never in charge, Mother Earth is, and therefore we tried to make the best out of it.

Slovenian people are incredibly warm and kind, food is great for its price and how they care about their country is amazing, I’m glad isn’t far from many places in Europe and I hope I can visit again soon.

Stay tuned for a full blog, as well as many more images on my Instagram.

I follow Reuben Wu on Instagram and he truly amazes me with every image, but with this project, he goes beyond anything I had seen before. Shooting at night with a drone and lights attached to them, it shows incredible creativity and honestly, I can't imagine how difficult must have been to accomplish such powerful images.

Fiona is a role model to challenge anyone, personally I was totally impressed by what she has accomplished, being vegan for more than 40 years, running everything worldwide, on every continent, and every ecosystem, the desert, Antartica and the North Pole, and setting world records everywhere she goes, simply an inspiration.

Insightful Words

Combatting Illegal and Unsustainable Trade in Endangered Species in Indonesia

A huge percentage of today's wild animal population has disappeared, it's not a secret to anyone that we are facing another massive extinction and we gotta do something about. Whether Indonesia or anywhere else in this post there key actions we can do to help, and that really gives me hope.

The Oceans Issue

Although by now you already know I'm a mountain lover, it doesn't mean I live by and for the mountains, I do like to explore and get information about different ecosystems.
The Ocean scares me at the same time make me feel relaxing, swimming or diving, the ocean is incredibly powerful, and the stories in this issue are as powerful as the ocean.
If I have to choose I was astounded by an interview to Fabien Cousteau on carrying on Jacques legacy. Such extraordinary work they do today.

Well, that was May.
Thank you for being part of this growing community. I hope you enjoyed monthly writeup, and wish all the best for what's coming in June.
